CTC

The CTC Technology Center is a private, nonprofit foundation with more than 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of innovative industrial technology transfer solutions. It is the only organization in Cantabria recognized as a Technology Center and carries out R&D projects with companies to transform technological challenges into solutions that can be applied in industrial settings.

Its activities are organized into three areas: Advanced Materials and Nanomaterials, Navigation and Robotics, and Industry and Energy. In the field of robotics, it develops autonomous robotic solutions for indoor and outdoor use. Its capabilities include environmental perception, computer vision, localization and geolocation, sensor fusion, mapping, mission and trajectory planning, navigation, and obstacle detection and avoidance. These technologies enable the integration of information from different sensors, the interpretation of the environment, and the adaptation of robotic systems’ behavior to changing situations.

The center combines these capabilities with artificial intelligence techniques (particularly in computer vision and data analysis) and works on technologies that link perception, understanding of the environment, and the execution of actions in physical systems. This approach is applied to fields such as industrial and collaborative mobile robotics, agriculture, drones, and connected mobility, including the development of human-machine interfaces, simulation, and digital twins. Among its current research areas, the development of autonomous robotic solutions capable of operating reliably in indoor and outdoor environments and integrating into complex industrial processes stands out.
