Synapticon develops and manufactures integrated hardware and software solutions for motion control, designed for humanoid robots and systems with integrated artificial intelligence. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Schönaich, near Stuttgart (Germany), the company also has offices in Silicon Valley, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Belgrade.

Its technology is organised into three main solutions: SOMANET™, a family of compact, high-performance servo drives; ACTILINK, standard and customised actuators designed for integration into robot joints; and POSITRON, a safety-critical AI platform designed for safe multi-axis motion, person detection and the monitoring of AI system behaviour during operation.

Synapticon approaches development from a complete-system perspective, integrating actuators, control electronics and functional safety within the robot’s overall architecture. This approach facilitates the transition of humanoid robots from laboratory environments to real-world applications where they must operate safely alongside people.

In this context, the company develops both the actuators responsible for the movement of humanoid robots and the functional safety solutions required for their operation in environments shared with people.
