Tekniker drives the development of high-value-added industrial products and processes by applying technologies in advanced manufacturing, surfaces and materials, and digitalization. As a leading technology center, it makes its specialized knowledge, robust technical capabilities, and state-of-the-art facilities available to the business community, supporting industrial sectors through their transformation processes—from the initial concept to implementation as a tangible, impactful solution.

Its mission is to contribute to economic growth and social well-being through R&D&i, sustainably fostering the competitiveness of companies and, by extension, society as a whole. Tekniker is a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), the Spanish Federation of Technology Centers (FEDIT), and the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO).

Within Tekniker, the Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (SAI) unit develops technologies designed to equip machines, robots, and industrial processes with enhanced capabilities for perception, autonomy, decision-making, and environmental interaction. Its

capabilities encompass 2D and 3D computer vision, AI applied to imaging, hyperspectral and multimodal vision, industrial and collaborative robotics, flexible manipulation, sensor integration, navigation and localization, simulation and validation of automated processes, and software development for autonomous systems. These capabilities enable the addressing of applications such as inspection and quality control, object and material detection and classification, metrology and 3D reconstruction, robotic guidance and manipulation, process monitoring, and the development of autonomous systems for complex industrial environments.
